Channel Partners serve as the extended sales arm for any real estate developer, wielding considerable reach and authenticity. As defined by the RERA Act 2016, Agents are of key stakeholders. Around 70% of sales are achieved through sourcing by Channel Partners. RERA mandates that all Agents undergo a training program, pass an examination, and acquire a competency certificate to qualify for a RERA Agent license. Moreover, developers are required to exclusively engage with Agents possessing the necessary competency certificate and RERA License. The act explicitly also mentions any “person” who directly or indirectly deals with a customer also requires to hold a competency certificate to do so which will require every person in the sales domain to also acquire a competency certificate.
